The island of dolls

   Let's stop in Xochimilco, marshy region south of Mexico City where one of the scariest places in the world. A deserted island where the atmosphere is heavy.    Don Julian will continue his quest for dolls in landfills and locals around the island even bartered with him by sharing their dolls against the vegetables he grew on the island. 

   Over time, the weather, the years pass by, her dolls were broken giving them a frightening appearance covered with cobwebs, dirt, mud. The legend is running! 

It was in the 90s that the island was discovered by the general public in an environmental program to clean the canals of Xochimilco. The trajineras, local gondolas, were able to freely access the "isla de la munecas" became a kind of creepy attraction for adventurers who want to think outside the box. 

How to get there? 

   It is not so easy to access. The island is located 20 km south of Mexico City. The trajinera is the only way to access it. It takes two hours to get there so make sure you book the day for this excursion.
