Greece

Greece is not a conservatory of ancient ruins, so beautiful they are, and is not limited to its glorious past. It has a lot to offer to those who think outside the box.
The scenery is actually where, a priori, there is nothing to see. It is in the remote places of Greece which was still lucky enough to be greeted with respect for the Greek tradition, that of Philoxénia, "hospitality" traditional Greeks, which unfortunately tends to disappear in tourist areas.
Greek monuments and islands (but not all) is therefore the most touristic Greece. For years, Greek tourists have shunned their own country, but they are caught ...
Of course, the national tragedies that were deadly fires of 2007 and 2009, are still fresh in our memories. But these tragedies came on top of the economic crisis - and moral - Greece suffered since 2009 .

The different stages of construction of the site are very complex. It was abandoned in the early centuries. What we see today is not very far from what the site looked when it was built.

Many researches were conducted to date the building of the site and find its history and its usefulness. It was established that the Druids have practiced rituals at Stonehenge, but they are not the ones responsible for its construction because their religion is too new. Some theories do not make Stonehenge a place of worship and ritual, but rather an astronomical tool. Indeed, at certain times, the sun aligns perfectly with the most impressive element of the site. Many mysteries this place despite numerous research conducted.

The ground on which these figures is gray, because of the colored iron oxide stones. The Nazca, removing the stones over long distances revealed a lighter soil underneath, which allowed the creation of its forms. The Nazca worshiped animal deities as evidenced by the pottery found and it is possible that they have well represented during rituals: monkey, dog, condor (pictured above), etc. The geoglyphs are not just animals. There is also geometrical shapes, such as lines and spirals.

Today, over 350 plots were discovered. They are preserved through a dry microclimate, warm and no wind or vegetation to cover the lines. The mystery when the reasons for creating his drawings. Some theories suggest shamanic and magical rituals or fancier like the figures used to locate water sources or that the message to the aliens theories! The most likely theory is that of the tribute to animal deities.

These monoliths most of which have been carved in a rock called tuff. Measuring between 2 and 10 meters, these stone giants can weigh up to 80 tons! The first statues date from the 1100s, however, it is possible to see the unfinished sculptures in stone quarry, as if stonemasons were arrested without cause in 1600.

The Moai are like gods and apparently used the ancient cults. Venerate brought the people a protection against the outside world. The rites are largely unknown, and the mysteries still prevail around manufacturing. But the biggest mystery to how the statues were transported, is now pierced. Through reconstructed and discover that this island was once forested, we now know that the tailors were using sleds and wooden logs to move the statues. It is very likely that once the wood of the island totally exhausted, transportation could be more, which led to a shutdown of the Moai sculptures.

Maldives a real paradise

Few places in the world enthrall the visitor upon arrival as the Maldives. Natural beauty is everywhere and simply breathtaking. The Maldives has the ability to give you the virus for this destination in minutes. Indeed, it sometimes takes one seaplane transfer to become addicted!

It's the same for divers and snorkeling aficionados - I know it's a anglicism but this term is widely used. it means snorkeling, fins, mask, snorkel or PMT for short - with their head under the water for the first time in the warm, clear waters of the Maldives.

Coral reef close to the beach: essential!

The Maldives is a paradise for divers. The underwater scenery is just as spectacular as those above the surface and the wealth of marine life is simply bluffing. If you want to explore the underwater world of the Maldives the first advice I can give you is that you choose your island. It is very important to make sure to have a "house reef" (house reef) a few fin strokes from the beach. You will indeed spend a lot of time in the water and it's still better not palmer few meters to the reef than having to take a boat.

If you know nothing about diving or snorkeling, this is the best time to start. For snorkeling, you do not even need to know how to swim. You will also once there, some of our Asian friends, who do not have the culture of swimming as Europeans, to dress in a life jacket and be floating above the reef. In talking with them you will agree they are just as excited and amazed by their experience than those attending the underwater world diligently.

Beware of sunburn!

For starters not need complicated equipment. Maldives hotels will lend or lease a mask, snorkel and flippers. Consider wearing a t-shirt special watersports certified UV protection (rather take in a light color, you will have less hot). They dry very quickly and are still more comfortable than cotton t-shirt. It costs less than 10 euros in a store like "Decathlon" (no, they do not pay me for this little stunt) and you'll thank me for having recommended this investment because the Maldivian sun is rather "beefy home beefy ". Also attention to the buttocks and thighs, as this is often where the sun attack ... wearing shorts certainly less sexy ladies is highly recommended. If you decide to apply sun cream to protect the skin still apparent (eg the neck), please use a lotion that will not damage corals (without chemical filter). It's a bit more expensive than conventional lotions but it is in my opinion a sign of respect.

Travel to Venice

Venice ... We immediately think of his famous flight gondolas on the Grand Canal. What would Venice with its lagoon? For hundreds of years it has been both a protective barrier and commercial asset for this city of Italy. The shape of inverted "S" would it a warning to visitors as they arrive in a place Stunning, sensual and Peerless?

Venice is made up of many islands connected by over 400 bridges, creating a labyrinth where only the Venetians are not lost. Along the canals, the facades of palaces recall the prestige and wealth experienced by the city in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Explaining the peculiar veiled atmosphere that floats in Venice? We guess in part through the Venetian painting, but you really come to Venice for lunch. This is one of those things that can not be explained and that we must live to understand. La Serenissima is an enchanting city that, like a siren, will seduce you!

History of Venice
It is unclear when the city of Venice was created. The barbarian invasions in the fifth century pushed the inhabitants of Veneto to take refuge in these lagoons. The waves of immigration continued when the Lombards settled in the area a century later.

Initially under the authority of the Byzantine kingdom, residents in electing freed in 726 1 Doge of Venice (Agnello Partecipazio). In 828, the legend says that two Venetian merchants brought back the body of St. Mark in Alexandria. The famous Basilica of the same name was built to accommodate the precious remains. St. Mark then became the patron saint of the city adopted its emblem, the lion.

Taking advantage of his former relations with Byzantium and its proximity to the sea, Venice grew significantly until the late fifteenth century. It became the hub between the East and the West. Venetian merchants were supplying Europe with spices and silks. The Crusades also contributed to the economic growth of the city. The Doge negotiated and obtained in exchange for his help in the 4th Crusade the city of Constantinople.

The fall of Constantinople in 1453 marked the beginning of the decline of Venetian power. The Turks, armed with this victory, attacked and took in Venice and Cyprus after 25 years of struggle, Crete. In addition, a new sea route to India and the discovery of America convulsed the maritime map of trade at the expense of Venice.

Despite its military defeat, the Serenissima preserved sixteenth and seventeenth major artistic place in Europe. She gave the world great painters Titian, Tiepolo, Canaletto, Tintoretto and Veronese.

The eighteenth death knell for Venice. In 1797, Bonaparte attack the Republic, who bows to the general. He then gave the Austrians with the Treaty of Campo Formio. Venice will be freed from Austrian rule until 1866, when it is attached to the kingdom of Italy.

This is the eighteenth century that we could place the beginnings of tourism (but we are still far from mass tourism). The town, including its carnival attracts visitors from all over Europe.

Venice today is faced with major problems: its depression, rising sea levels and pollution that damages the foundation and Venetian buildings.
